ABOUT ME

web2.jpg

My name is Leah Kirssin, and I just graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of science degree in Architecture. I am fascinated by the idea of “play” and fell in love with children centered design when I visited the St. Louis City Museum when I was little. I have carried this interest into my research and designs. I enjoy visiting and studying playful environments and designing children’s museums and playgrounds for my studio projects. I just completed my thesis on flexible play systems, and I will be working for BCI Burke as a Playground Designer starting this summer.

I am also interested in art, animation, industrial design, and landscape design. I enjoy dedicating time to learning new computer software and expanding my interests. My free time is spent painting and drawing, animating stories I come up with, coaching kids soccer, and designing gardens with local public housing residents.
