Curved Conglomerate is located in downtown Charlottesville and fills two connecting parking lots on the exterior of the Downtown Mall. The form of Curved Conglomerate allows for enclosed spaces with seamless views. The ground floor is public and contains commercial spaces and a park. Pieces of the building are removed to allow for continuous axes from the streets through the site. The upper floors also have sections removed to allow for a connected view between balconies, as well as air flow and light. The building height responds to the heights of the surrounding buildings. There is a double facade system with panels that allow for light and air circulation into the apartments. The apartments are small and have one to three bedrooms and are available for families, students, singles, and couples.
